Laxmibai overhears Aaishri blessing Gangadhar Rao as he leaves. She also hears Aaishri telling her servant how she was successful in separating Manu and Gangadhar. Gangadhar tells Moropant to stay back in Jhansi. Jankibai tells Aaishri that Moropant and his family have been asked to stay back at Jhansi. Aaishri does not like this and insults Moropant indirectly. She tells him that he should live at Durgabai Wada and not in the palace. Laxmibai is practicing sword fight, and at that moment, Aaishri enters.
